The problem of excessive water consumption in the clothing industry will worsen if consumers dont cut back on their consumption, since 2700 litres of water are consumed in a single T-shirt. According to O Público (29-11-2019), the high consumption of water for textile production increases water stress, especially in clothing-producing countries such as India and China. It is therefore necessary to reduce clothing consumption, buying only what is necessary and focusing on quality and durability rather than quantity.
